My bestie Shauna of www.stayinghomesawyer @stayinghomesawyer and I do a weekly DIY party themed challenge. This week we challenged each other to show a simple way to present sparklers (lit or not) with an adorable printable tag! Be sure to check out both of our ideas and participate weekly on challenge ideas and votes to gather cute ideas and win free coffee on us!
I know my kiddos are still a little apprehensive to hold the sparker so I created this cute way to present the sparklers and then made a simple USA playdough sparkler “holder” for them to put the sparklers in and watch them go!
Do not light the sparklers in the tumbler! That is just the cute way to gift them! 🙂
Nothing like a little sunshine, rainbows, and roller skates to bring in all the cheery vibes! The kiddos are out for school and we wanted to kick off the start of Summer break with this fun breakfast party to get rollin’! Think cinnamon rolls, rolled bacon skewers, and ham and cheese crescent rolls.
The roller skate and sunshine plates were all the inspiration I needed! As soon as I saw these both pop up on The Party Darling’s website I knew I had to throw a party around them. The vibrant colors and design of the sunshine plate was what inspired the amazing balloon backdrop by Aquarelle USA.
How could any kiddo not love this theme? Each place setting contained the cutest mini jelly bags by Festivefetti, retro flower sunnies, groovy tattoos, and metallic party blower, all sprinkled with the most adorable custom confetti by Festivefetti.
One of my favorite ideas was to use the custom confetti to make confetti bomb sticks! I ordered thick clear straws from Amazon and used a candle to heat the end and gently pressed it to create a closure at the bottom. I then filled the straw with confetti, warmed the top end of the straw to carefully to close it, and added a metallic and puffy yarn ribbon.
There’s nothing like a genius DIY that is simple, functional, and economical, am I right?
My fellow friend Deb of @myfourwonders shared this DIY boho picnic table made from IKEA materials last summer and as soon as I saw it I KNEW I would be creating it. I am not sure what took me so long to replicate it but I sure am glad I finally did! Here is the scoop!
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
HERE’S HOW TO CONSTRUCT THE PICNIC TABLE:
Using scissors or snippers, remove the wrapped rattan that attaches the handles to the baskets.
Gently wiggle the handles off the basket. They are attached by a few small nails.
Flip the baskets over so the base of the basket is now the top.
Use the U-shaped brackets to attach the baskets to the countertop.
*This step is optional but it will help create stability and keep the countertop from shifting on the baskets*
Freaking out about where you will store this bad boy…DON’T. Remember, it was originally 3 separate pieces and can be disassembled just as easily as it is constructed. Just slide the countertop under your bed or stand it in the back of a closet and use the baskets as practical storage and home décor.
Now, style away and enjoy!!

Looking for an adorable DIY that is sure to bring lots of love? Stop right here and check out how to make this gorgeous paper flower bouquet. What a great way to pop in and show some love for spring, a birthday, Mother’s Day, or simply, just because.
My mom has been providing us so much support every day and I have been wanting to get her some flowers to thank her for all of her help. When a friend introduced me to Wrappily and I viewed their product line, I knew I wanted to use their gorgeous Eco-Friendly paper to create a DIY flower bouquet for her. How could she not love them when they are sustainable, made from recycled paper, and are this gorgeous?
What little girl doesn’t love dressing up and making a fun craft project? Mine sure does! Grab yourself a fun outfit and these supplies and get to work!
wrappily eco-friendly paper
twine, craft ribbon or like
This DIY comes with a quick preface… DO NOT get overwhelmed by all of the photos! I wanted it to be super clear so I took LOTS of photos to show you step by step how easy it is!
Cut your gorgeous paper into a 3″ x 3″ square – (I used a post it note pad as my template, it was perfect) – you can make as many as you want for your bouquet, I made six.
Fold your square paper diagonally (corner to corner), once, twice, a third time, and then draw a big arch as shown (you can freehand that or use a quarter coin as a template).
Cut along the arch and slowly open the paper up entirely until it creates a flower shape.
Cut ONE section out of the flower.
Apply a very small amount of glue on the left edge of the opening you just cut and glue the right edge to it to create a cone shaped flower. Pic 4 shows seven finished glued flowers.
Use scissors to create a hole about the size of your wood dowel. Use hot glue on the end of the dowel and insert the dowel until it sticks out of the inside of the flower about 1/4″-1/2″.
Cut a 1-2″ piece of Wrappily Hemp Cord (or craft ribbon or twine), use hot glue gun to cover the wood dowel inside the middle of the flower and begin to wrap the hemp cord around until it sticks to the glue. Use glitter to cover the top exposed piece of the dowel and, Voila!
Here’s my cutie helping with the glitter!!!
Didn’t they turn out amazing??? To boot, all of Wrappily’s Eco-Friendly paper are double sided so you get double the bang for your buck!
Here we go! Popping in to surprise Nana with her flowers!
Hendrix used the glue to create glitter flowers and an “H” for her signature on the card.
