Corn bread with cranberries and apples
Corn bread with cranberries and apples, who would have thought? It is one of those recipes I never thought about trying until my husband suggested it or I should say insisted on it,lol. But as always before I knew it my imagination started running and I started mixing around ingredients in our cupboard.
Our first batch we incorporated the cranberries and nutmeg which gave it a nice taste with a lil Holiday feeling to it, by the second thanksgiving dinner the next day [yes, I said 2nd,lol. I am a masochist for reunions of any kind and one where I can cook for our love ones? Even better] we started adding more ingredients and incorporated the apples ect. My family loved it so much especially with a glass of milk, that the second batch never made it to our friends and family after that day.

This can also make the perfect Holiday gift, make a small batch, add a few ingredients on a basket and wa’la .
- 2 cups of Corn bread [jiff is one we use most often]
- ¼ cups of cranberry
- ¼ cup of apples thinly sliced
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon of nutmeg
- ¾ teaspoon of cloves
- 1 cup of milk

Mix together all ingredients and grease the pan all around with butter then pour. It will rise to close to twice its size becoming golden on the top. I have no idea how we had not done this before because I guarantee you there is nothing out there that says “holiday season” more than this dish! My suggestion is, the day you set up your tree get the family together and make this; it will be the perfect treat.
Wishing you all a great Holiday season filled with love, harmony and health!![]()
